Why The Number One Decision You Can Make Is To Live In A Positive State

What’s the number one thing you can do to optimise the quality of your life, is absolutely free and can be cultivated at any moment? The answer is to live in a positive state.

The Key To A Quality Life

For the purposes of this post, “state” refers to your emotional state ― how you feel.

Reason #1 ― Health

Your body’s cells are constantly communicating with eachother by exchanging information via chemicals (hormones and neurotransmitters).

Positive states are a result of chemicals associated with pleasure such as dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, endorphin and anandamide which create coherence and order in the body.

Negative states are a result of chemicals associated with pain such as cortisol and adrenaline which create incoherence and disorder in the body.

Therefore…

The more positive your emotional state, the more coherence and order and therefore the more effectively your cells can exchange information and communicate with eachother to maintain health which creates ease in the body.

The more negative your emotional state, the more incoherence and disorder and therefore the less effectively your cells can exchange information and communicate with eachother to maintain health which creates dis-ease (a lack of ease) in the body.

Research conclusively shows that smiling and laughter strengthens the immune system, defends the body against illness and ultimately extends life expectancy. In short, humour heals.

As above, so below. The same way we can explain things from a physical point of view in terms of matter, we can also explain things from a spiritual point of view in terms of energy.

It’s now a scientific fact that everything in the universe is made of energy and all energy vibrates at different frequencies (speeds). Consequently, by extension, so does your body.

What we refer to as “feeling” is simply vibration. When you say “I feel good” what you are actually saying is “I’m in a positive vibration.” When you say “I feel bad” what you are actually saying is “I’m in a negative vibration.”

Therefore, living in a positive vibration is another way of saying living in a positive emotional state. The more positive your emotional state, the higher your vibrational frequency.

Higher vibrations are associated with coherence and order. Lower vibrations are associated with incoherence and disorder.

As humans, we are naturally drawn to people who reflect our emotional state. Happy people are drawn to each other. Unhappy people are drawn to each other (hence “misery loves company.”)

Therefore, by maintaining a positive emotional state, you’ll become a magnet to other people in a positive emotional state which creates a self-perpetuating cycle.

Your brain works like a servomechanism.

A servomechanism is a device that automatically steers itself to a pre-determined goal based on error sensing feedback. In the context of your body, your emotions operate as feedback that inform you whether or not you’re aligned with your goals.

So when you are in a positive state, your brain is optimised to automatically align you with the behaviours necessary to achieve your goals and the life you desire.

How To Transform Your State

Knowing that being in a positive state is the key to a quality life, the next natural question to ask is, how can we transform our state?

There are three forces that control our emotional experience in any given moment. They are:

  • Physiology ― what we do with our body.
  • Focus ― where we place our attention.
  • Language ― how we communicate.

The best thing about these three forces is that they are entirely within our control. We can change any of them at will and when we do, we change our vibration or state.
